Appointment of International Power Finance Director
International Power, National Power's overseas business, today announced the appointment of Philip Cox as Finance Director. Mr Cox, 48, who is a Senior Vice President at Invensys plc, the controls and automation group, takes up his appointment in May.
Mr Cox gained an MA at Cambridge University and is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants. He qualified as a chartered accountant with Price Waterhouse and worked for Lucas Industries plc and in private industry in both financial and general management positions prior to joining Siebe plc in 1989. At Siebe plc, Mr Cox held a variety of corporate finance roles and was latterly Group Finance Director/Chief Financial Officer. From 1999, Mr Cox has been with Invensys plc, with responsibility for operational planning. Mr Cox is married with a teenage son and daughter.
National Power plans to separate into two substantial independent companies - International Power, an international power business, and Npower, an integrated UK business. Good progress continues to be made in preparations for the proposed demerger in the current financial year.
