Glow Energy

Glow Energy has a combined installed capacity in Thailand and Laos of 1,976MW. Glow Energy owns and operates both Independent Power Projects (IPP’s) and cogeneration projects, which sell electricity directly to the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) under the IPP and Small Power Producer (SPP) programs and electricity, steam and water to local industrial customers. Glow Energy is listed on the Stock Exchange of Thailand.

E.CL owns and operates an installed capacity of 1,691MW in Chile. E-CL is the leading electricity generator in northern Chile and is also Chile’s fourth largest electricity producer (in each case in terms of installed capacity). This represents approximately 49% of the installed capacity in Chile’s northern electricity grid. E.CL also owns two electricity transmission networks, Edelnor and Electroandina, and the Gasoducto Nor Andino gas transportation network between Chile and Argentina.

EnerSur

EnerSur is a private company listed on the Lima Stock Exchange in Peru. EnerSur owns and operates four power plants; Ilo 1, Ilo 21, Yuncán Hydroelectric and ChilcaUno, as well as a 511km electricity transmission network, and has an installed power generation capacity of 1,043MW. In 2009, EnerSur was the second largest private power generator in Peru, and the third overall (taking into account the public sector), with a market share of approximately 18% (in terms of capacity). In the last 5 years, EnerSur accounted for 52% of the total new power generation capacity of Peru.

Kot Addu Power Company Limited (KAPCO)

KAPCO owns and operates the Kot Addu Power Plant, located in Kot Addu, Punjab. The station is a 1,342MW multi-fuel power station which produces around 85% of its electricity using natural gas and 15% from low sulphur fuel oil. International Power plc owns 36% of KAPCO. The Pakistan Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) is a major shareholder with a 44% stake, having sold 20% via an Initial Public Offering (IPO) in April 2005, when KAPCO was formally listed on all three stock exchanges of Pakistan.

The Hub Power Company Ltd. (HUBCO)

HUBCO owns and operates a 1,200MW oil-fired plant located near the Hub River estuary in Baluchistan, Pakistan. HUBCO is listed on the Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad and Luxembourg stock exchanges and has one of the largest market capitalisations of any company in Pakistan. International Power plc purchased 26% of HUBCO in 1993 and currently owns 20% and partners with Xenel Industries, Pakistan Power and Entergy Corp.

Sohar Power Company

Sohar Power Company owns and operates a 585MW combined cycle gas fired power plant and 150,000 m3/d desalination plant, which is located in the Al Batinah region of the Sultanate of Oman. As part of the tendering process for the Sohar power project, Sohar Power Company was required to offer 35% of its issued shares to the public of Oman. Accordingly, it offered 35% of the issued share capital to the Omani public via the Muscat Securities Market in 2008.

Al Kamil Power Company

The Al Kamil Power Company owns and operates a 277MW OCGT, which is located in Oman. The Al Kamil power project was awarded to National Power (now International Power plc) by the Government of Oman in July 2000. Until August 2004, International Power plc owned 100% of Al Kamil Power Company. As part of the tendering process for the Al Kamil power project, International Power plc was required to offer 35% of its issued shares to the public of Oman. Accordingly, IPR offered 35% of the issued share capital to the Omani public via the Muscat Securities Market in 2004.
