Edward Metcalfe
Director of Operations and Engineering

Edward was appointed Operations and Engineering director for International Power in July 2006. Edward joined the Company in 1973, and now has 35 years' experience in the power industry.

During this time Edward held various managerial positions in the Engineering Division of Central Electricity before moving to Australia in 1997 to develop the South Australian business for National Power. Here he was responsible for developing the business including the construction of Pelican Point power station, the acquisition of a peaking power business and the construction of the SEA Gas pipeline. In 2003 Edward moved to Abu Dhabi to become the executive managing director of Arabian Power Company, which is the owner of the Umm Al Nar power and desalination plant.
