Tony Concannon

Tony Concannon

Tony was appointed as International Power's managing director, Australia in August 2003. He is responsible for managing all aspects of International Power's performance in the Australian region including plant operations, finance, energy trading and new business development.

Tony is a chartered engineer and joined the industry in 1982. He has previously worked in a number of business areas including power station operations in the UK, trading and international business development (based in Asia).

Tony was appointed to the International Power Board in January 2004. International Power Australia has representation across a number of high-level industry associations including the Business Council of Australia and the Energy Supply Association of Australia.


Paul Maguire

Paul joined International Power Australia in May 2006 and is now Finance director for the region, with responsibility for all finance, accounting and treasury functions in the region.

Paul has 20 years wholesale and retail experience with state and privately owned utilities, the last ten of which have been in the power industry. Prior to joining International Power he was part of the management team that executed the A$1.4billion sale of Southern Hydro to AGL and more recently managed the acquisition of the remaining 50% of International Power's retail business from Energy Australia. He has extensive experience in financial reporting, risk management (electricity & gas trading), treasury, taxation and corporate compliance.



Stephen Orr

Commercial Director

Stephen became Commercial director for International Power Australia in 2000. Stephen is responsible for International Power Australia's trading activity in electricity and gas, commercial support to business development, and the business' regulatory positioning.

Prior to his current role Stephen was the Commercial manager for Hazelwood Power, and before that worked for the State Electricity Commission in Victoria. He represented generators in the development and initial trading of the Victorian electricity market, and the development of the commercial functions of Hazelwood Power, and later International Power in Australia.

With a 35-year career in the power industry, Stephen is well placed to represent generators on the Reliability Panel, the body that sets standards for electricity supply reliability across the NEM.


Graeme York

Graeme joined International Power in 2004 following the acquisition of the Edison Mission Energy assets. He is currently the Chief Executive Officer of International Power Hazelwood in Victoria, Australia. In this role Graeme is leading a demonstration project that offers the potential to significantly reduce greenhouse emissions associated with lignite fired power stations through pre-drying of the coal and post combustion capture of CO2.

Graeme joined the power industry in 1983 with the State Electricity Commission of Victoria before moving to Edison Mission Energy in 1993. His experience covers engineering, maintenance, business development and asset management. Graeme is also a Director with the National Generators Forum, and is an industry representative on the NEMMCO Participant Advisory Committee.
